dispNet

The Dispersal Network:
Distributed experiments in spatial ecology and evolution.

The dispNet project

Our main objective is to experimentally study the major drivers of spatial ecology and evolution. We currently focus on understanding the causes and consequences of dispersal, with a specific emphasis on condition- and context-dependent dispersal.

In order to achieve generality and maximize the power of our inferences, we use a replicated, distributed experimental design and a multispecies approach. Currently, the dispNet project unifies over 20 researchers from 8 laboratories and 3 European countries who use spatial experimental approaches. Our distributed experiments involve over 20 study species spanning a wide taxonomic range, from protists to arthropods and vertebrates.
